Visitor Guidelines
Visitation guidelines have been set for all areas of the hospital, taking into consideration the needs of the patients for care, socialization, and safety. ¸Û°Äͼ¿â Halifax Regional Hospital supports a philosophy of healing that involves patient-centered care.
Visitor Guidelines:
- All visitors are required to stop at reception, share a photo ID along with their destination, and receive a photo visitor badge.
- Visitors are encouraged to wear a mask and observe social distancing guidelines while inside a ¸Û°Äͼ¿â facility.
- Please do not visit if you are sick or have symptoms of respiratory infection (fever, cough, shortness of breath).
- If a patient is in isolation for any reason, visitation will be limited and appropriate precautions must be followed.
Critical Care Unit
Visitors 12 years of age and older.
Please limit visitors to two at a time.
Emergency Department
Due to room sizes, we request visitors limit themselves to two at a time.
Infusion Center
Visitors 16 years of age and older.
Please limit visitors to one per patient.
All Other Nursing Units
Under normal circumstances, a patient may have open visitation at all times. For special circumstances, the charge nurse, patient nurse, or physician (along with the patient), may lift or limit restriction.
Calling a Patient
If you would like to call a patient on the 2nd or 3rd floor, dial 434-517-3 and the three-digit room number. If you would like to call a patient on the 4th or 5th floor, dial 434-517-8 and the three digit room number. If you don't know the room number, dial Patient Information at434-517-3100.
