¸Û°Äͼ¿â Leigh Hospital Stroke Program
¸Û°Äͼ¿â Leigh Hospital is certified as a Primary Stroke Center by DNV. DNV's stroke certification programs incorporate elements from our NIAHO® hospital accreditation standards, as well as requirements from the Guidelines of the Brain Attack Coalition and recommendations of the American Stroke Association.
The emphasis these programs place on deploying a disciplined management system, combined with the relevant clinical best practices, sets DNV stroke certifications apart from other programs. This distinction is awarded when a hospital meets national standards and guidelines for improving clinical outcomes for stroke patients and exercises critical elements for long-term success in improving outcomes.
Emergency room physician's work with neurologists and an interventional neuroradiologist, board-certified and specialty trained in neurovascular disease, to quickly assess and treat acute stroke symptoms and emergency neurology care. Improved quality outcomes due to accurate and speedy assessments, and administering a medication that dissolves blood clots. It is called a thrombolytic agent or more commonly referred to as the "clot buster". Used to treat ischemic strokes. The sooner the medicine is given, the more likely it is to help. Medication can be given within the first 4.5 hours of symptom(s) onset.
This type of treatment on ischemic attacks can minimize neurological damage and mortality risks - in effect preserving proper nervous system functions.
