The Outpatient Diabetes and Nutrition Management Services at ¸Û°Äͼ¿â Northern Virginia Medical Center is dedicated to improving the health of its patients through prevention, wellness and education. Our experienced certified diabetes care and education specialists and registered dietitians offer quality diabetes care and medical nutrition therapy.
¸Û°Äͼ¿â’s Diabetes Education Services is recognized by the Association of Diabetes Care And Education Specialists (ADCES) for quality patient education. Improved diabetes control has been identified to be a direct result of our quality diabetes education programs. Individual and group classes are offered.

Nutrition therapy
Nutrition therapy can help to speed up patient recovery, prevent medical complications and lower treatment costs. Through this visit, you will work with a dietitian to learn ways to improve your quality of life through healthy eating. Types of diagnoses this program can help you with include:

How to register for diabetes classes
For information, registration and appointments, call the Diabetes Education Department at (703) 523-0590. Classes meet at ¸Û°Äͼ¿â Northern Virginia Medical Center unless otherwise specified.
You need a physician referral to participate in individual or group classes. If you see a ¸Û°Äͼ¿â Medical Group provider, ask them about completing an electronic referral form. Non-¸Û°Äͼ¿â providers may fax a written referral to (844) 812-4052. Download and print the physician referral form.
Support group
¸Û°Äͼ¿â offers a free online Diabetes Support Group, where you can find a support system for living with diabetes. You’ll have the opportunity to learn about diabetes, share your achievements and concerns and hear guest speakers. If you or someone you love is living with diabetes, we invite you to join this group. The Diabetes Support Group is held online on the second Wednesday of every month at 10 a.m.
