Medical Clearance Exam
A medical clearance exam is required before your joint replacement surgery. At ¸Û°Äͼ¿â Williamsburg Regional Medical Center, your primary care provider (PCP) performs your medical clearance exam. If you are required to go to a specialist such as a cardiologist, nephrologist or pulmonologist, you will be informed.
A nurse in our Preoperative Anesthesia and Surgical Screening (PASS) Clinic will call you to review your medical history and medications. They will also review the needed lab work and provide you with information on where to get it.
Arriving for surgery
When you arrive, proceed to the hospital's main entrance. Once you enter, please walk past the large water fountain and check-in at the registration desk. Once checked in, you will take the elevators to the second floor and take a left into the surgery waiting area.
